I also recommend when batteries are being charged ( all battery types) charge them out of your plane and in a 2 quart Pyrex bowl with a lid ( this idem can be picked up in any department store in the kitchen dept ) . This way if the battery gets very hot, starts to leak, off gases or catch fire you will be able to take the damaged battery out side of the gym immediately with the aid of two oven mitts to protect you hands and safety glasses to protect your eyes.
Flying will be held at the East Junior High School Fieldhouse, Friday evenings from 7 PM tell 10 PM , Pilots Fee will be $5.00 per session. Pilots must be a current member of the AMA. But do not need to belong to the River Valley Flyers R/C club. Spectators of course can watch for free. Thanks.
We will continue flying Free Flight and R/C Electric Slow/Park Flyers (under 20 oz) at the East Jr. High School gymnasium located in Wisconsin Rapids.

We will collect $5 per pilot to pay for the gymnasium for the night. Pilots do not have to belong to our club, but they do have to be current with there AMA insurance. Spectators can sit on bleachers to watch the flying and ask questions for Free. Indoor aircraft will be powered by ; Electric motors, C 02 motors, Rubber band or Free flight. No internal combustion engines! It will be your own responsibility to find out if we fly or not on any particular Friday if the weather is dicey (any time they close the school for the day, example;Snow Day, the gymnasium will be closed to us also). If you are interested in participating or need help in deciding what equipment or aircraft to use, please contact me.

GETTING THERE--Directions to Wisconsin Rapids' East Junior High School
East Junior High School is the location for the indoor electric flying events. The junior high school is two blocks west of 8th Street, on 6th Street. >From the stoplight intersection of 8th Street and Grand Avenue, turn west on Grand Avenue, towards Hanger's Cleaners and Dairy Queen. Turn south (left) after 2 blocks, just past Taco John's, on 6th Street. The stop sign intersection after the turn is the corner of Peach and 6th. The school gym is ahead and to the right, and you can park in the lot just east of the school gymnasium. There may be a sign on the door for River Valley Flyers. Remember to contact Chuck Korte chkorte@charter.net in advance to sign up as space is limited, but if there are not enough pilots, the event will be cancelled so no-one is stuck paying the space fee alone.
